If you are taking youth to the 2015 ELCA Youth Gathering this summer,
you should already know about the Getting Ready Bible Studies.
What you may not be aware of is that these are great bible studies that can be used in a variety of settings.  The third lesson is about Detroit itself and
may only be relevant to those going, but the first two are fantastic bible
studies that can be used for any setting, and not just for youth.

Lesson One is an introduction to the Gospel of Mark.  It addresses these basic questions:

  • Who is Jesus?
  • What is discipleship?
  • What is the Kingdom of God?
  • What is the Good News?

Lesson Two is an introduction to the Theology of the Cross.  This lesson addresses:

  • Key dynamics of Luther’s theology of the cross
  • Using these dynamics to think like a theologian of the cross
  • Learning to value looking at faith and life as a theologian of the cross

If you are looking for a free, good quality, bible study with a
Lutheran perspective, there really is no better place to look than at these two
bible studies.  And there will be more coming so keep checking back here for more:  http://www.elca.org/Resources/ELCA-Youth-Gathering
